Attendance

Excellent attendance and punctuality are crucial to success at Esher High School. We work extremely closely with families to ensure that every child receives the best education possible.

We understand that every situation is different and we believe that a good working partnership between our Attendance Team, Wellbeing Team, Heads of Year and families is a key factor in ensuring that all of our students can attend Esher High School successfully.

Esher High School expects its students to aim for 100% attendance, but we understand that this is not always achievable.   The minimum level of attendance should be 96% which is equal to only 8 days absence a year.  This includes medical appointments, illnesses or absence for special circumstances.  We may ask you for letters or appointments cards to enable us to authorise absences from school.  We are required to retain evidence for absences should your child’s attendance be questioned by the Local Authority.

We encourage our parents to speak to our Attendance Team or Heads of Year to discuss any problems that may impact on their child’s attendance to school. We strongly believe that by working in partnership together we can give your child the best opportunities for a successful life and future.

Please view the information attached below. Alternatively, you can speak to a member of the Attendance Team on 01372 468068 ext 249 if you have any questions.

To report your child's absence, please email attendance@esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk.
