What People Say About Our School
Leticia
Year 11
I enjoy that, unlike primary school, every subject is taught in full depth and very clearly. This helps me learn more. There are also many extra-curricular activities and every student is welcome to join in any club. All the teachers are nice and it’s a fun environment to be in.

Working as part of the support staff team, I don’t deal with the students first hand but I have had the pleasure of handing out the GCSE exam results in previous years. It's lovely to see so many of the students so happy with their results – I became quite emotional. It makes you feel that whatever role we work in, we all play a part in the students’ futures, which is very rewarding.

Inclusion Manager/DDSL
The most rewarding thing about working at Esher High School is helping, supporting, guiding and nurturing some of our most vulnerable students overcome barriers in either their learning and/or their individual circumstances. I work with a range of students with varying educational needs backgrounds and students with differing personal circumstances. Watching these young people battle through adversity, the turbulence of teenage life as well as coping with differing special educational needs or other exceptional circumstances is inspiring. Working in a school can be challenging and sometimes relentlessly so, regardless of the role you play. The team that we have make daily work life that little bit easier. Colleagues genuinely want to help and support each other. Esher High School is an inclusive, supportive and nurturing school with high expectations and that strives hard to help students achieve their potential. We are a caring community that wants our young people to be the best they can be both academically and as individual citizens.
What People Say About Our School
Mr Burton
Head of Year 10 & Teacher of PE
I have worked at Esher High School for 6 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed every moment that has been presented to me and my career in teaching has thrived with the support and attention to detail provided by the leadership team. Esher High is a school built on strong student relationships which has enabled the school to make monumental steps in the right direction. The students value the educational opportunities provided during curricular and extra curricular activities at this school. They are designed to provide students with the knowledge and understanding to succeed in the future. A key strength of the school is the care, guidance and support all students receive. I regularly see behind the scenes the time and effort that goes into providing an environment for students that is conducive for learning. I have progressed from a Teacher of Physical Education onto Deputy Head of Year and currently now Head of Year 8. I am extremely grateful for the journey my career has taken at Esher High and am excited for the future for the school and my own development under new leadership team.

I really enjoy my time at Esher High School. The new school year has brought many opportunities, as COVID 19 restrictions have been eased. The teachers clearly put a lot of time into their lessons and I never fail to be engaged by them. The school is really welcoming and it has some amazing facilities for everyone to use.

Teacher of English & KS3 English Coordinator
I started working at Esher High School in 2018 and was instantly impressed by the welcoming and friendly atmosphere provided by the teachers and students alike. I quickly learnt that Esher High is a place where children’s emotional well-being is nurtured and placed parallel with their academic growth. Relationships are at the centre of what we do; we value students as individuals, for all their quirks and interests, so that they have the best chance of becoming happy, successful adults. I love that Esher High encourages these indelible connections between students and teachers and between peer groups; our community is enriched and strengthened because of it.
