Year 7 Transition September 2024

We're so excited to welcome you to our school and have planned a busy schedule to make the transition to secondary school as seamless as possible.

Your Head of Year : Miss Di Mambro

Meet Miss Di Mambro who will be your Head of Year.  She's joining Esher High School in September too! So you'll be starting your journey here together. You'll see Miss Di Mambro a lot during assemblies and tutor time and she'll help you make the best of your time in secondary school.  She's here to make sure you feel safe and happy.  She said, "I can’t wait to help you all develop as learners! My focus while being your Head of Year is to recognise and reward every single one of you. I will be looking for students that are kind to others, polite to all staff and students, and are hardworking. Throughout your time at Esher High, you will be looked after and rewarded often and all we ask is that you are the best version of yourself every day! I am so proud to be your Head of Year and I can’t wait to meet you all and begin building our year group community."  Miss Di Mambro will also be teaching English at Esher High School.

Primary School Visits

If you are joining from one of our main feeder schools (Burhill, Chandlers Field, Claygate, Cranmere, Esher Church, Hurst Park, St Lawerence Primary Schools) we have arranged for our colleagues to visit the school to talk to the children about the transition and answer their questions.

If you are not joining from a main feeder school or are new to the area, you should have received an invitation to a "mini induction event" we are hosting at Esher High School in June.  Please let us know if you haven't received this invitation (admissions@esherhigh.surrey.sch.uk).  This will be an opportunity to meet other children and families in a similar situation.

Induction Day : Tuesday 2 July

For all of our children joining in September, our main Induction Day will be Tuesday 2 July.  We are looking forward to welcoming them for a full day at their new school.  The day will start at 8.45am and finish at 3.30pm.  Please refer to the letter below for more information.  Parents will have their own Induction event in the evening!  Again, please refer to the letter below for more details.

Summer School : Thursday 29 and Friday 30 August

We love hosting Summer School for our new Year 7 students!  It's a fabulous opportunity for the children to make new friends, learn their way around the school site and have fun.  If you would like to book a place for your child at Summer School, please use this link.  Further details about the 2 days will be sent to you later in the term.

Below we've put together lots of information and links that we hope you will find useful in preparing for the move to Esher High School.
