2024 Yr 11 GCSE Results - our best results ever!

Esher Church of England High School is thrilled to celebrate the exceptional achievements of our students in this year’s GCSE and vocational examinations. The students have produced our best ever results across the board, with the highest progress ever, 99 grade 9s and 76% of students achieving grade 4 and above in English and Maths. This opens many doors for the students’ future studies and apprenticeships. Reflecting on the results, Mr. King, Headteacher, extends his warmest congratulations to all EHS students:

“I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you for your extraordinary commitment and resilience during the past two years. You have navigated a demanding journey with determination and focus, overcoming numerous challenges as you worked towards your GCSEs and vocational qualifications. Your hard work and perseverance have truly paid off, and you should be extremely proud of your achievements. Well done to you all!”

In a year with grades nationally dropping slightly, our students have again performed above national figures. 23% of grades achieved were at 7 or higher, above national average and 74% of all grades were at 4 or higher, 7% above national average! We are delighted with the 99 grade 9s achieved and hoping to break the 100 barrier with a few students papers being remarked.

There have been some exceptional individual performances this year.

  • Ava 9 grade 9s and 1 grade 8
  • Immie 8 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s and a grade 7
  • Jorvin 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s
  • George 7 grade 9s, 1 grade 8s and three grade 7s
  • Issie 5 grade 9s, 5 grade 8s, 2 grade 7s
  • Elif 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s
  • Evie, Alex, Ben and Eamonn all achieved 4 grade 9s with many grade 8s and 7s to go along with them.

Mr. King added, “Our students should be immensely proud of their outstanding achievements. The results they have earned are a testament to their unwavering dedication and hard work. This success also stands as a powerful tribute to the relentless support from our families, teachers, and support staff. Throughout the challenges of recent years, they have been the cornerstone of an exceptional educational journey for our students.”
