Year 10's enjoy Shakespearience Drama Workshop
A selection of Year 10 GCSE drama students took part in a drama workshop learning how to get to grips with the language of Shakespeare.
The afternoon was filled of practical and discussion tasks whereby students performed the famous ‘witches scene’ from Macbeth, insulted each other in Shakespearian language and heard from professional actors and drama practitioners, Marvin Karon and Jennifer Walton. The pair travelled from Toronto, Canada to deliver the workshop to a small number of secondary schools in and around London, including ‘The Actors Studio’.
Student Ava Denham said "I thought the people who ran the workshop were really engaging and interesting and I feel I’ve learnt a lot that I can bring into my English lessons"
Head of Performing Arts Ben Allin was thrilled to have welcomed Shakespearience back; "We’re very lucky to have Marvin and Jennifer return to Esher High School to provide our students with some excellent insight as to how to tackle a piece of text from Shakespeare, making it easily understandable to a modern day audience".
