Trips & Visits
Trips and visits allow students to experience first-hand the knowledge and skills gained within lessons, helping to enhance their understanding.
A range of residential and non-residential trips are organised, with opportunities to visit destinations locally, nationally and internationally. In recent years international trips have taken place to destinations including Spain, Zambia, France, Austria and Italy and national trips to Wales. Day trips have included visits to a Design Museum, Natural History Museum, Harry Potter World, Imperial War Museum, Portsmouth Harbour, The Witterings, Kew Gardens and Twickenham Rugby Stadium, and more locally to Brooklands Museum and Painshill Park. Visits also take place to universities, local colleges and businesses as well as school sports fixtures, theatre productions, debate trips and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
We aim to ensure all trips and visits represent value for money and that guidance relating to health and safety from the Department for Education and the Local Authority is strictly adhered to. A member of the Senior Leadership Team is designated as the Educational Visits Co-ordinator and has the role of overseeing all trips and visits that take place and that Party Leaders for each trip are suitably experienced and supported.
Trips 'Terms and Conditions' give guidance on matters such as financial payments/contributions regarding trips alongside the selection process should a trip be oversubscribed. These can be downloaded from this page.
All Trips and Visits are covered by our membership of the Department for Education's Risk protection arrangement (RPA). Click here for further information.
