Studio 3 Upgrade at Esher High School
The Performing Arts department are delighted to announce an exciting new development within the Arts Centre. Over the course of the Summer, Studio 3 was transformed from a Drama studio to a multi-purpose performance space.
TThe installation of theatre drapes has created a professional setting for stage and film performances and will provide a platform for learners to share and showcase their work within lessons. The installation of stage curtains will enable learners to engage fully within the design aspects of productions, allowing for greater creative possibilities for lighting and set design work, which is a key element of the GCSE Drama course, and provides greater opportunities for students supporting with design and backstage roles.
This could not have been possible without the support of The RC Sherriff Trust who awarded the school a £1000 grant towards the project. Ms Shrubb, Head of Performing Arts, said “Stage curtains offers the chance to build upon the work of the Performing Arts department and build in opportunities for regular showcases effectively transforming the room into a performance venue and provide some enriching experiences for our learners”
