Students visit Westland's Farm
Seven students from Esher High School visited Westland’s Farm in Shamley Green to participate in an animal assisted learning session. The students had a fantastic time and they were all very confident around the animals. We had close encounters with all of the animals on the farm, including; horses, goats, rhea birds, an emu, rabbits, guinea pigs and a snake! The students groomed a horse, handled a number of animals and watched a farrier shoe a horse!
Stan in Year 7 said “The farm trip was the most amazing experience because the emu and rhea birds were funny and I touched a boa constrictor, it felt leathery, I have never done this before.”
